BlinkBetter is local-first. Breaks, exercises, settings, and wellness history stay on your Mac. We do not run product analytics, advertising, or automatic crash reporting.
What stays on your Mac
- Break, exercise, screen-time, and wellness history.
- Reminder schedules, Smart Pause preferences, and other app settings.
- Locally generated diagnostics unless you explicitly export and send a support log.

Smart Pause and permissions
Smart Pause processes activity signals locally to recognise calls, video playback, selected focus apps, and time away. Depending on the features you enable, BlinkBetter may request Notifications, Accessibility, Calendar, Microphone, or Camera access. These signals are used momentarily for pause decisions. BlinkBetter does not record or transmit audio, video, screen content, or window contents.
App Store purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases under your Apple Account. BlinkBetter uses verified StoreKit transaction status to determine access and does not receive your payment-card details.
Support logs
Settings → Privacy → Export Support Log creates a plain-text file at a location you choose. It includes app and system versions and recent BlinkBetter diagnostic events. Sensitive path and credential patterns are redacted. Nothing is uploaded automatically, and you can inspect the file before sending it.
Launch-list email
If you join the launch list, we store only your normalized email address, signup time, consent-policy version, and signup source in Cloudflare D1. We do not store your IP address, name, device identifier, or browsing activity with the signup.
The address is used for one BlinkBetter Mac App Store launch message. Launch-list records will be deleted within 90 days after that campaign unless you separately consent to future product email. To remove your address sooner, email privacy@blinkbetter.app.

BlinkBetter supports healthy screen-break habits. It is not medical advice, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a medical device.
Your choices
- Delete local app data from Settings → Privacy.
- Export a support log only when you choose.
- Request launch-list deletion at privacy@blinkbetter.app.
